Thanks for joining us! Jaime and I wanted to create a blog to not only share our travels, but also as a keepsake for ourselves. Already, we’ve started and closed a few chapters – becoming friends during undergrad at the University of Arkansas, dating during our graduate school years, and marrying (after plenty of weekly “suggestions” from Jaime once she agreed to move to South Carolina). As a married couple, this next bit is a step into the unknown for both us, but we are both excited to see where it takes us!
We weren’t excited to leave our friends, workplaces, or hospitality of the South. I can’t say as much for the humidity, heat, or endemic blood sucking insect that shan’t be named . Nonetheless, Jaime and I resigned from our jobs as engineers after working for three years in Florence, South Carolina. We wanted to take the opportunity before we start a family to explore bucket list items as a couple.
Our first journey was home to Oklahoma and Arkansas to visit family/friends and prep for travel for the month of July. Fortunately, our families only live 2 hours from one another. Now we are in the last few days before our first international adventure begins – Iceland.

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
